Decalogue to buy good breeding organ exhibitions
I would advise you to return from the exhibition "unharmed" and not get rip off (sorry if I seem presumptuous, do not consider myself an expert ornicoltore, but the rip-off good because I recognize I've seen so many do and I also took myself):
1 - wary the prices are too low, always some hidden catch.
2 - A breeder of finches TRUE or indigenous people, in general, will not tell you that only the ancestral mutations because they suck. So if you see the gabions filled with ancestral and not perfectly acclimated, beware.
3 - Many traders are provided with equipment capable of ringed individuals clearly required (I will not dwell on this subject, but there are several kinds). Be careful. As happened last year, we in our small association we will offer to help out the less experienced or 'Distracted' not to fall into traps. Before purchasing an individual, contact your 'colleagues' association, four eyes are better than two.
4 - The legs of finches born in captivity are NEVER very black. The ring A is for these animals, never B.
5 - If an animal is swollen in trade shows, hard, come in your herd, will return to full health.
6 - When you get people belonging to indigenous or exotic species import (as they call them, but always catch are), beware of belly fat and apparently giallissime. In many cases it is the result of medical treatment and nutrition rich. Once at home, interrupted the administration of this or that medication, the birds will have a real decline and could die. A belly a little 'red but not swollen, if the liver is not visible (the dark speck in the abdomen, for instance) and the chest is not a knife, it can also go well.
7 - If you have decided to take a subject and see it on display along with other animals, get it now: maybe spend a few euro more, but you can keep it in your container, with good food and fresh water ... and also have time to find some flaw sgunzagliare and the Doberman. Be always deliver the certificate of transfer. Now open An aside: The "certificate of transfer of native fauna recreational purposes" is what you must give when you give people belonging to the European fauna (goldfinch, accordion, linnet, chaffinch, Greenfinch, serin, siskin, etc.). Has nothing to do with the Cites (who serves for exotic species). For the European fauna is the body responsible for monitoring the office hunting and fishing in the Province. CITES and the State Forestry Corps. So, do not you take ingiro ... CITES does not exist for the goldfinch, but only the certificate of transfer.
8 - When you purchase a subject, find Food: If a goldfinch, for instance, grew up eating and niger enough, it will be difficult to get used to the canary. Or do not ask, but look at the feeders.
9 - Pay attention in kennels and cages that contain those who have decided to buy, the stool ... if they are liquid or semiliquid, look good and make purchases.
10 - Buy if you can, on farms or into the cage or people with overt confidence, but beware of trade exhibitions, where in many cases, lead scraps farmed in contact with other farm waste hundreds of neighbors, may be exposed to pathogens. In any case, when you get home, you carry your new purchases, a quarantine ... without antibiotics to hell ... enough fresh water and good feed. And a little 'quiet.

Funny Card Messages For Christenings
The accordion is a nice brownish finch about 13 cm. Adults: several varieties are known which differ from one another in small details. The Carduelis flammea cabaret, typical of Britain, is slightly smaller than the chaffinch, and is reddish-brown on the back, with red forehead, chin and black double-buff wing bar (the male has a pink breast and rump). The Carduelis flammea flammea, a native of Scandinavia, is slightly larger and much clearer, with two white wing bar. The Carduelis flammea rostrata, a native of Greenland is even larger and darker, more robust beak. The short forked tail is a general feature. Little and sometimes imperceptible difference between young males and females. The adult male has a reddish breast, staining affecting only the crown in the female. Juvenes: young cabaret variety of leading a tiny gray spot on the chin, do not have red paint on the head and show the ventral parts more heavily streaked than adults. The organ lies in the conifer forests across Europe and Asia. In nature it reproduces from late April to July, coinciding with the flowering of many herbs which feeds on grass, but does not mind a few insects that collects directly on the ground.
Experience farmed
From the late 90's I have many pairs of organs for the subspecies and Cabaret rostrata, with permissions on the holding, granted to me by the Province of Foggia. My first impression of this charming Finch goes back to the world of Pescara, where he bought a pair of brown to black Dino Dorigo. Then true love at the Internazionali di Bari, where I met a great producer, Domenico Carlomagno, serious and never park tips. From him I bought my first "bearer", a male ancestral, coupled with a wonderful "brown" has given rise to a good stump-grinder Cabaret. Prizes up for awards at exhibitions, local and international passion for this little finch has grown progressively. I pull Cabaret, beautiful, attracted the attention of many visitors to my farm. Together with his friend Angelo Pitea we put on twelve couples who only gave satisfaction to see them. Some shopping in Belgium, four subspecies rostrata changed subjects and breeding was done! The accordion is a very sensitive animal, but if well maintained, appears to be durable. As for food, I give my subjects a basic diet consisting of a mixture to the canaries, with the addition of a Joint Gouldians, Perilla, lettuce and a handful of white mixture to the natives. During the period of rest, providing the "pudding" of which I speak in a separate post. It never fails in the cages of my subjects the grit and charcoal, which are essential in times of hatching and moulting. Centocchio, shepherd's purse, Dandelion and Wild chicory are most welcome. To stimulate the bride to carry the bill, an ear of panic is a blessing. In the month of March - in my Foggia good weather arrives soon - early administration of the "pudding" with three eggs (usually two) and barrel organs begin frantically to bring the material in its beak while the males sing (a plaintive melody, but nice). This continues back and forth for weeks, then suddenly a perfect nest and eggs. Males become a bit 'rowdy and disturb companions intent to hatch, so it would be best to keep them under control, to avoid any inconvenience (broken eggs, nests, frayed, etc. ...). Females are good and covatrici imbeccatici. There is always, however, some smartass who plants regularly, but does not want to sit on the nest. Normally I avoid using canary as nurses, because I prefer to select a strain that provides self-parental care. Trying to "infrascare" the nest with branches of pine, fir or cypress, the problem usually resolves itself-cove. After 11:00 to 12:00 days, the eggs (three to six, but sometimes 7:00 to 8:00) will hatch. The young become independent around 25 days. At this point a small Tip: to avoid giving too much power heating during hatching (Hemp, Niger, Oats, moths). Being an animal red factor, the organ must be colored. At about 40 days use of red dye in pastoncino. To recognize the males (which only leads to the second year in the red on the chest), use some foam removed from the areas of election growing back and wait. In the next breeding season only to have pairs cabaret, I prefer the other subspecies in the years I have purchased subject to Charlemagne, Dorigo, Angelo Marino Saclusa Domodossola and Piteå. Now, for some time, I'm leveling a strain of mine, because I want to select subjects very typical, but primed to be perfect (and in this, some of Angelo Pitea subject of great help to me).

Add to

Obviously, this compound should be administered immediately, but changed frequently (assuming they do not end up), especially during the warmer months (since it is subject to fermentation).

Bowling Alley Bellevue
The Linnet Nordic Deep South
When it comes to Fanelli, the undersigned 'pricked up his ears,' unlike many ornicoltori, which identify these birds as a sort of devils hopping and never dominant. And in fact the linnet, in general, is an animal very Forastiere, which is unlikely, even if born in captivity for generations, it adapts to life captiva. Quite the opposite is true for the cousin of our native from melodious singing, namely the Nordic linnet.
Identikit
belongs to the species of carduelis (whereas a few years ago was ranked in acanthis) and is a close relative of the linnet, although it seems a happy medium between the linnet el'organetto. The size is intermediate between the two species, whereas the same can not said for the beautiful red-breasted male linnet evidenced by our and organ, the linnet Nordic does not show. He is also called "Yellow-billed Linnet" and is a native of northern Europe and Asia Minor, where rigid stand temperatures. A challenge for someone like me, lives in Foggia, in the deep south, where in August it is unlikely that the mercury higher than 45 degrees. Those were years that I hoped to take possession, or at least see a linnet linnet Nordic and Yemen. For the second species seems that, given the closure of the borders for fear of bird questionable, I'll have to wait some years. The Nordic linnet I had always imagined as a big linnet nostrano, less brown and more washed out, when I saw them for the first time at Fringilla I noticed that indeed my imagination leaves a lot 'to be desired. I bought four. What I saw for myself, just come into contact with these birds is that they are very calm, almost seem to canaries. An innovation for those seeking to raise Fanelli (despite being in possession of three pairs of our own extremely quiet).
breeding and feeding
I have them housed in a cage 90 cm from the open (my farm is on the balcony of the house) and I given them a mixed base, which provides all the birds in my possession (I breed barrel organs and Fanelli): Joint canaries with perilla, 'cut' with diamonds Joint Gould. Nothing mixtures for natives, because in my opinion, at least in Foggia where it is very hot, many of the seeds in them (most oils), are subject to go rancid sooner than others and may do harm to my children. A balanced basis, in fact, pre-packaged by companies for the sale of mixtures for birds, is more than enough. Obvious to me that the power supplied is not limited to a mixture of seeds: the linnet Nordic, unlike many other indigenous picky, eat a little 'and all tends to taste any food to put at its disposal. In addition to seeds, therefore, provides fanelli Nordic apple centocchio, oranges Gargano (I can find throughout the year), cut in half and placed in special containers (empty and leave only the peel) and then cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, purslane and yellow melon. They devour everything, including a pastoncino I prepare myself, mixing a little 'trade of feed and flour "first period" that is administered to chickens and turkeys: I use to dry the seeds germinated, from March to September, I never miss. During the hatching prepare a pudding, I get by mixing two eggs (yolk and albumen) and the milk contained in a glass. This compound is spent in the microwave until it becomes thick, then poured it into a pot, brought it to room temperature and refrigerated. Fanelli and provide access to the organs into small cubes, and - as usual - I can not find a trace.
Experience farmed
My first question, I took the fanelli a yellow beak, was to form pairs: nothing easier, with the help of a great friend and great producer, Jean-Eric Adam, Belgium Liege, who taught me that the dimorphism in northern linnet is clear: the male has the rump crimson red, the female no. One difference you will notice little, especially if does not stain the linnet Nordic during moulting. Now another problem, but the northern is colored or not? There are those who do not dye administration, to prevent damaging the beautiful yellow beak. I solved the problem: given only beta-carotene (canthaxanthin nothing) and a modest amount, just as my eye could define dimorphism. Pairs formed in December, comes the fear of losing them is said to be subject to the Nordic fanelli coccidiosis who suffer from the heat, they are obviously very sensitive ... it is my luck, since I lost one of two boys, but only because the usual magpie who had decided to bring his small meal in unconventional ways. Down to one male and two females, I have not lost heart and I waited for the spring breeding in May to have found that the male was going to love, and did nothing to hide as much of the period: the only inconvenience, if you can call it, was that he sang just like a goldfinch. Clearly, the Nordic, as his cousin ours is a good imitator, and my 'incardellato' had lent to singing school, seeing the good student. In mid-May one of the two girls began to tear the feathers from the breast: the desire to nest had arrived. I entered a nest for canaries inside, I have not infrascato, but I put on the front wall of the cage and outside I carpeted with artificial aquarium plants: I gave a little 'Jute and started playing around, carrying the material everywhere, chased by the male excited. After about ten days here is the first egg laid in the basket, without jute: I tried with animal hair, coconut fiber, I ripped the wires that are located around the plant palm trees, many in my city ... all useless, did not know the Fanella where to start. At this point I made a nest in his hand, which recess has been rounded off with a hot bulb, and the female has willingly accepted. Three eggs, all full. Do not use wet nurses of any kind, so the choice was inevitable: I needed a Fanella Nordic suits parental care. Luckily I went well: three eggs hatched, even a death. A male and two females, what you ask for? The hot weather had come, and the Nordic fanelli showed no great signs of suffering: the important thing was to have the bathroom always available, with clean water. I noticed that their ability to bathe is almost maniacal, so why upset? Meanwhile, the other female showed signs of restlessness: in this case no aptitude for nest building and, unfortunately, no fertilized egg. The male, at the mere sight of this second woman, driven by a inexplicable hatred, gave rise to scenes of violence and chases that lead me to separate the two. This year, do I have another boy, gorgeous, I bought from Jean Eric, we'll see if born feeling with the 'widow' of last season cove. In the deep south, Foggia, this is my conclusion, the linnet Nordic survives very well, you play, sing, adapts to power of 'my' Gargano. I'm trying to 'infect' a great breeder of organs, Angelo Pitea, also Foggia, raising the Nordic: start from a couple. I will continue my adventure with three small families, which, combined with our own three pairs of fanelli (Species, from what we've noted, I love) and nine of cabaret accordions, will be the 'team' for the 2007 season cove, one in which I can confirm that, if properly observed, even the delicate fanelli Nordic adapt to any temperature, even those of "caliente" Puglia.
